About the community

Rabari, or “Rahabari” means one who lives outside or “goes out of the path”.
It gets its name from the Rabari community, who are nomadic/semi-nomadic community of cattle raisers living in the western region of India, from Rajasthan to the Kutch region in Gujarat. Rabari, or “Rahabari” means one who lives outside or “goes out of the path”.
The women depict the world around them, without the help of sketches or patterns.
Rabari women have diligently embroidered textiles as an expression of creativity, aesthetics and identity.
Rabari embroidery is characterized by chain stitches and, an extensive use of mirrors (shisha)in many different shapes and sizes, with the most common forms being lozenges, round, rectangular, square, triangular and sometimes tear drop shapes.

Our Vision
To combine Indian traditional culture along with modern westernization trend by engraving Indian contemporary design through embroidery across India.
Our Mission
Taarang aims to acquire 30% stake of the handicraft industry
and improve the social status of Rabari community.
Our Objective
Taarang is here to introduce fashionable lifestyle products and apparel that will appeal to both the country’s youth population and traditionalists since all the products are handcrafted with Rabari embroidery done by the Rabari community of Kutch, Gujarat. As a result, many artisans who are skilled and talented in this needlework will be able to find work. We will not only support them financially but also allow them to grow, strengthen and build confidence in their abilities. We offer products that are not only of the best quality but also affordable.
